LaDeus was kind of neat.

Cosmos Pink Shock is funny to me because I watched it like 3 years after downloading it, and that whole time before watching it I thought it was a hentai for some reason, only to watch it and find that it wasn't even particularly lewd.

>>1160
It definitely has all of the outside appearances of a hentai made between 1984-1985ish, yeah.

Does sound work here?

>>1166
gotta have the audio

I love this scene because it feels so unnecessary. They could've just had a scene of her running down the hill and maybe tumbling into a bush that led to her finding the Neo Atlantean's yet they decided to just have this scene of her running around this island and having fun doing what a kid might do here. It feels so pure and innocent.

>>1168
Thanks. I made that webm for posting on /a/, but now that we have sound and bigger filesizes... the sky's the limit

A fun wrestling scene from episode 10 of Dororonpa, solo animated and directed by Daizo Takeuchi, as far as what the credits seem to indicate.

>mfw I can post vp9 webms

>>1177

I havent seen this show in forever, was that real?
That paint smear part looked like a pretty neat effect.

Don't do this to me after such a sweet episode.

Happy Birthday Yoshinori Kanada!

does this count?

>>1185

I miss humor like this.

>>1186
To be fair, Di Gi Charat was more of a pioneer for humour to come. There's more stuff like Di Gi Charat in the 2000s and even the 2010s than there was in the 1990s.

>>1186
Otaku meta humor is still around.
You just don't relate to it anymore ;_;

>>1188
>You just don't relate to it anymore ;_;
I mean, most of the meta-humor in something recent like Jashin-chan Dropkick is just references to pre-2000s Japanese media.
Similar kind of absurd, face-paced humor as Di Gi Charat too.

>>1188

It wasnt the meta part i was referring to missing specifically. I like meta humor but never be able to watch enough anime to get all the jokes.
Just miss the weird stuff and exaggerated visuals like squeezing the log to make a bass guitar.

>>1190
fuck me, imageboards really are a small world. I drunkenly made this clip as a forum weapon to some namefag on 8chandotmoe like a month ago.

>>1191

Lol, Yea im basically everywhere stealing other peoples stuff to post elsewhere anymore.

>>1192
>stealing
Oh no, I wasn't accusing you of stealing. Reaction files are meant to be shared, friend.

>>1196
slightly shorter verion because it has a better flow

Fun ED, cute late 90s CGI at the end.

Is this an accurate portrayal of Americans?

I love her

>>1209
Why is Japan+Animation = Japan Porno !?

does old ascii art count as anime / retro ? :>

>>1247
I was about to head to bed before seeing this extremely comfy video. Thank you, friend.

i don't know but look:

A FISH!

Seeing retro anime gifs makes me realize how much has the colour saturation changed during the years.
Go see a pre 2000's or even a 2000's anime and you'll see that the colours are actually balanced: not too dark and not too bright, in the project there is the attempt to give a realistic representation of the colours.
Now go watch literally every single anime they are airing these days, every single one has the colour saturation beyond levels: everything is so bright and strong to the point that i have to look somewhere else or else i'll lose eyesight.
What happened?

>>1262
it became a sovlless product.

>>1163
what show is this from?

>>1275

Dream Hunter Rem

I guess since im here.

>>1276
thanks, but where can i watch it? on streaming sites, i only see the first three episodes and on torrent sites i only see the ovas.

>>1278

Thats basically it for the show iirc.
I watched it on youtube, might still be there.

>>2662
I love this!

>>2632

Dont know why this had no sound.

>>2663

Whats not to love.

I started Captain Harlock recently, and I gotta say, this is some unprecedentedly audacious/evocative editing for the 70s, it's still more evocative than most contemporary stuff, but even still

>>2797

Wrong video, cracks me up tho.
They mustve been smoking some wacky stuff back then.

>>1264

What is this one from? I've tried saucenao, ACDB, etc. and no matching results.

Looks creepy and interesting

>>2805
Betterman.

>>2805

Betterman.

Lot of creepy imagery in the first half before the story picks up, good show for spooky season.

>>2799
lol this is almost borderline parody, is this the infamous “harlock and the queen of a thousand years” dub I’ve heard about?

>>2810
Friendly reminder that this takes place in the same universe as Gaogaigar

Why do they have to ruin everything with a remake.

>>2848
Because publicly owned companies constantly need to make money and a safe way to do this is with a remake wich is cheaper that paying people to come up with a new idea and has an already established fan base who will certainly watch it, privately owned companies have this problem too even if with a smaller rate.

>>2849Maybe the remake will be good? We'll have to wait and see.

Cool i going get all for me >:)

>>1152
Luv Kodocha. These gifs are enormous but they're easier for me to make than videos.

>>3160
Such a great ost.

>>1262
It's just digi-paint coloring. There's a genuine dark ages starting in 2001 where shows were digital but the coloring is dreadful and the shows were quite low resolution. Since then there's improvements and you can have good colors if you so choose, but omst don't care or notice, and they go with the overly saturated simple colors, something mundane, or some weird blurry haze. The same issues are in live action media.

Still crazy to me that this didn't get censored in the dub
Ami must have been wearing some very bold underwear judging by the look on Makoto's face

it looks like she is nopan.

>>3320
woah!

>>3319
She's a teenage girl and her friends ass is suddenly thrust into her face, so she becomes embarrassed.

They also wear leotards in their transformed form with skirts, not panties per se.

Did they increase the size, i couldnt post over 20mb.

>>3399
It says 25MB under the post box. No clue how recently it changed. I've only been posting here for a couple of days.

>>3396
This is possibly the best piece of animation I've seen from the Japanese. Very impressive.

AV1 haet grain.

>>3403
Japanese background animation is really rad.

>>3410
Good ol' kill em all.

Oshii directed some of hte best Lum action despite some of the whiners.

>>3435
People don't like his Urusei Yatsura? He's one of the best directors in the medium.

>>3438
There's a small cadre of people who consider him heretical and are manga purists.

>>3440
That's a bummer, but I get it. His directing has always been rather divisive. Even outside of Urusei Yatsura. Still one of the all time greats in my book.

>>3441
It's only a small group of Rumiko purists and they're loud on the internet.

The 2019 NHK poll has a few Oshii directed or written eps:
https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/perfectedition/10-best-urusei-yatsura-episodes-nhk-poll-2019-t5154.html

For ratings, the show was mega popular in the first two years, then sharply declined.
https://www.furinkan.com/features/articles/ratings1.html

>>3442
Those make sense to me. Always felt that Oshii was at his best when there was comedy involved.

>>3445
Love the Miyazaki robot, ever since I’ve seen this movie I’ve noticed it made several other cameos in various anime like the New York episode of patlabor

I watched Sanctuary some time ago.

>>3445
Watched Flying Phantom Ship some years back with friends. Loved every second of it.

Yup.

From the "We saw 2001" Files:

Anyone have this with music? I got this from /a/.

>>3481
Wanted to try making one using the BD release too.

>>3482

To be completely honest, even though this is both sharper and the audio is better i prefer >>3481 because of the "darker" look of it.

>>3481
>>3482
Color correction is often done because film colors fade, but it's a finicky process, and it's entirely possible they wanted to just make it brighter to make it pop more and look different than the DVD release. You have to go back to original cels, original promotional material, to get some sense of what the original colors were like.

>>3485
Doing direct comparisons: the DVD is blue tinted and may be the fading of cyan and yellow dyes, while the BD does color correction to counter this.

>Since the introduction of modern color motion picture films in the 1950s (the older Technicolor process is a different story), color fading has become a growing concern. Color fading is caused by spontaneous chemical changes in the image dyes of color films. Many older films have taken on a distinct purplish cast, caused by the rapid fading of the cyan and yellow image dyes.

>>3486

The guys suit was green in the bluray one but black in the dvd one.
Same with the guys hair and eyebrows in the beginning.
Its been decades since i watched dirty pair i dont know which is correct here.

Did the OP too for the hell of it. The BD release has far cleaner audio, but it also sounds heavily brickwalled. Both also seemingly have far different shadow detail. The DVD seems far darker in places while the BD seems to lift shadows considerably. Then the BD might also crush shadow detail in other spots.

>>3488
I thought that was odd too. The DVD feels very blue, but the BD is green. Some pretty big color changes.

>>3492

What is the intention here with that release with the missiles with removing the shadows, To make it look more flat like modern anime?
Yeah i can see the details more but in real life shadows and twilight exist and some detail isnt intended to be seen..

>>3550
>Man, Gato is so honorable. He fights for his ideals above all else.
>what were his ideals again?
>Killing a bunch of Feddies.

Is there a reason why .opus doesn't work in an .mp4 container? Does it work in .webm?

>>3574
So, .opus does work with .webm. Good to know.

>>3578
Damn, that looks rad. I really need to watch Betterman one of these days.

>>3579

Its aight.

This kind of shot is super hard in 2D animation.

>>3588
It was interesting seeing studios experiment with shots like this once 3D backgrounds became more common.

>>3739
>Music Fantasia: Princess Sara
Huh I didn't know about this thing. Pretty cool, I love her show.

The plot of this show is dumb, but I really like the animation, setting, character designs, etc.
I've grown accustomed to the comically small filesize restrictions on 4chinz, it's nice to be able to clip stuff without destroying the video quality. Also, does this site/board have any rules concerning nudity? Hope not, picrel

A diablo appears.

The little sister rules the harem.
