My current favorite is this boy from fromsoft's Murakumo.
For me, it's mentally in the same category as Gundam TR-6, but doubled down on what makes Japanese mecha designs great. It keeps getting better the more I look at it.
The feet look like a complete afterthought though, even for something that isn't supposed to use them much. And I do like landing gear feet designs.
The game didn't render the transparency for the uncanny visor-cap and the monoeye behind it that is seen in promo material. They're really captivating. It's a bit like body horror when you're used to that designs tend to have "eyes" between the cap and the faceplate.
I didn't like other playable units' designs as much, but they're still fine as the design base is superb.
I was surprised to learn that Yanase Takayuki was the designer. He didn't get bad, but, compared to this even his XCX designs are relatively mild (and I luv them as well).
