Its pretty good but If you aren't already a fan you probably won't like it as much, since it's imo way too self-referential and pleased with itself.

I do admire how it had the balls to not just be a 1:1 adaptation of the comics, like whats a lot of people were thinking it'd be.

Seconds was also really good, although it did have a small problem where the protag managed to basically get away with everything scott-free and the rest of the cast was the one paying for her mistakes, kind of undermining the message a bit It does feel like the sort of thing that would work really well as an indie movie and I'm surprised it didn't get adapted.

my problem with it is that the bait & switch of it not being an adaptation is unnecessary. i think people would've still been excited for a sequel/reboot to scott pilgrim without tricking them into thinking they're getting an adaptation of the comics.

at least it's not super divisive like castlevania or devil may cry.
