Since you're all here it seems like it's a good time to ask, which is your favorite?
>Hidamari
>Geijutsuka
>Sketchbook

Or, since Hidamari is the most popular by far, let's give some love to the other two. Sketchbook's adaptation is the most relaxing of the bunch IMO, especially this time of year.

Hidamari Sketch > POWER GAP > GA > Sketchbook

Sketchbook is barely even about art. GA is the most about art actually, with Hidamari Sketch in the middle. I actually liked the Sketchbook manga more than the anime. I think the gag comedy aspect fits it a lot better than the relaxing side the anime focused on. I haven't seen the GA manga, just read the manga. But Hidamari Sketch is one of my favorite anime period. I wish we'd get a new chapter already. It's been like 9 months.

As much as I love the other two, Hidamari is still easily my favorite.

Good point, especially with how big the cast is. Ryoufu and Kate still get me every time though. It definitely taught me a lot about insects.
>I haven't seen the GA manga, just read the manga
I take it you meant anime in the first part. I've only read a few later chapters right after watching the series, because the early chapters were all adapted pretty much 1:1. It does a good job with the fantasy sequences, but it feels like it's missing something the manga does better. It's still plain fun.

If you liked the manga, have you read Shoulder-a-Coffin Kuro? I'm going to read it this summer when I've finished a few other things.

I have read Shoulder-a-Coffin Kuro. I recall binging it though and it didn't grip me all that much. I'll probably try rereading it slower this time. I've been rereading some stuff recently and seeing if reading them too quickly impacted my enjoyment.

I love Kuro, it's one of my favorite manga

Kuro is Kiyuduki's magnum opus. everyone should read it.

I love them all, but Hidamari Sketch is my favorite of the three.

Geijutsuka. Kisaragi is cute, CUTE!

GA is one of my all time favorites, both anime and manga.
I love the Sketchbook anime too, but thought the manga was kind of insufferable.
The Hidamari anime is great, but I thought it kind of sagged in the later seasons (season 3 really, 4 is fine). Never read the manga since I usually don't read things that are still ongoing.

I can understand finding the Sketchbook manga insufferable. It's largely anti-humor, but I like it because of that. The Hidarmari Sketch manga should be ending soon in terms of chapter count but it's been 9 months since the last chapter so that slows things down a lot.

Watching Hidamari in the middle of the night was the only way I could fall asleep while sick. This series is a gift from heaven.

Interesting, Hoshimitsu is my favorite season and the one I rewatch most often. I never finished Honeycomb cause I don't want it to end.

It's nice to have a situation where the most popular one is the best as well.
For Sketchbook I recall it being decent but all the cat parts being shit. For GA for reasons I can't recall it's one of my least favourite Kirara anime. I really don't know what it did wrong to make me consider it Aldnoah tier but aside from remembering a surrealist episode being decent I don't remember anything else so have to defer to a list I made 6 years ago.

For extra art girl anime if I count New Game and Stella no Mahou they'd only be behind Hidamari. If I include mangaka and potters a few extra series would join them.

Cute Kuga

I found volume 2 in a secondhand shop the other day. It's a little bit disappointing they didn't have the 1st as well, but it was still a good find.
I'm taking this as my sign to start reading it finally. I'll report back later.
