I hope hosting and maintaining my own imageboard is a kind act
>>146That depends on the board i guess...
>>141I helped an elderly anon across the street today and had a nice chat with him!
>>211I'm aiming to make my board a kind place in my own way! :)
Specifically mentioning my good deeds to others has always felt weird to me, but I guess that's part of what /kind/ is for. I think a few weeks ago now I donated to a pediatric cancer research fund.
Because of the career I'm going into, doing a good deed will hopefully occur every shift. I was able to work a shift as an intern and help 3 anons.
>mentioning my good deeds to others has always felt weird to me
It kinda does, but it also might inspire others to do something kind themselves!
I remember Dreamchan had a deeds bulletin board that was nice.
I shared some of lunch with a stray cat.
I'm planning on taking my college course materials and putting them online for free to benefit friends. I don't know how I would do this though.

Not sure if it's a /kind/ deed, but there was this arcade park on top of the supermarket, seems that it's for kids mostly, only played House of the Dead despite charging enough for 4 machines in the card they gave me.
Ended up leaving the card where they used to leave new magazines, seems like it's damn abandoned despite the machines being in a decent state.
I'm sure some kid had fun with that.
I offered to write my classmates essays for her. She didn’t seem enthusiastic about the offer though.
>>4173I'm not sure how to not feel embarrassed about it. I'm addicted to otaku stuff but otakus really piss me off and are embarrassing.
>>4208In his case his culture still expects a heavy level of cultural conformity so any differences would be made fun of and shamed, and he carried that attitude to the rest of the internet without having met a community or person to express himself with.
Otaku exist in a more pure form on the east asian side of the internet but sparks of that are still alive, albeit it's much rarer. They neither piss me off or embarrass me; I admire nerdy people.
Warned an artfriend that Touhou is AI generated now, he's now decided to stop drawing Touhou as well as Toei series
>>4214Nice job! Fight the Touhou!
>>4214So, why is this a bad thing? Is there an actual argument to be made or is this the standard "grr technology bad" luddite sentiment on display here
>>4219luddite I'm guessing but ZUN used some really low quality AI textures for the backgrounds in TH20
>>141I helped co-worker, done his part of job
>>4221He's used stock photos as backgrounds before, I really don't see how this is different other than it looking like shit.
I cleaned up al local pond, all by myself!
It took three days, and I had to swim a bit to catch all the junk, but I managed, and the last day there were even children playing at the pond.
I also found a tiny plushie in the pond, I think the pond spirits gift it to me like a present, but I'm really just happy to help keep a nice place nice for longer
I gave a stray cat some my lunch and she let me pet her
I helped my cousin set up some emulators on his PSP today. Sadly he didn't have a microSD adapter so I used one from my PSP which I don't need anymore.
>>4573I just think about your post from time to time. Anon, you too can do good things, you just have to be brave and do them.
Sometimes it's tempting to think selfishly but thinking of others makes the world a better place!
I have been living by this rule for all of my life, and even though some people have tried to exploit my kindness, I persisted. I learnt how to identify exploiters, and give them a very measured amount of kindness, only as much as they deserve.
And sure sometimes it is tempting to think selfishly, like that one time in a cold winter, when I lost my coat to a shivering puppy that lay below a bench outside the hospital. I know this act seems almost irrational, but to explain, I can survive without my coat.
To live with the nurturing feeling of having done something good for another living being is the best feeling in the world. Atop of this, kindness generates kindness, and thus you make the world a little bit better than it was before.
I wish everyone was kind, communicative and understanding.
I rescued yet another spider from the bathtub. I have to be careful because they crush easily.
I saved an old PSP from the trash pile. Seems to be in pretty decent shape. With a clean up and a few fixes it should be good to go. Kinda sad someone would just throw this out. I might give it to my niece when its done. I'll add her a cute little strap. I hope she'll get as much fun out of it as I once did when I had a PSP at her age.
>>141i helped give first aid to a guy who got hurt bad on the streets… but that was a while ago…
>>4650do you wear gloves when you handle bugs? some bugs might bite…
>>5098hmm… maybe it's the battery? PSPs are comfy, but they're pretty old at this point… what kinds of games did you play on your PSP?
>>5105There is nothing wrong with it. There was a pretty worn out charger in the trash along with it. The UMD drive door is broken and the cover panel for the battery keeps falling off but its otherwise in good condition.
I would rather she play an old PSP than get hooked on smartphone games. It helps that these have limited internet abilities. No social media. No streaming. No massive multiplayer online gaming. They are actual games which require thinking ability too.
>what kind of games Mostly my PS1 library. But I also played the hell out of MGS Peacewalker, LBP, Monster Hunter, Dante, God of War, and a handful of great PS2 ports. I squeezed a lot of life out of that thing.
I was walking down a steep street and from one of the gardens some ball shaped toy rolled out and started slowly descending. I caught up with it and brought it back to that garden and a kid and his father (I assume) were coming out to get it and they thanked me.
I bought gifts for some neighbors in real life but I regret it since they'll forget about it and since i am introverted
>>6039Those kinds of things go a long way into making you less of a stranger to them.
>>6039I got a small wooden USPS truck for the very professional clerk at my local post office for Christmas.
>>6039consider it your exposure therapy. even if they forget you, you'll have a proof that you can talk to other people lol
