Heyya,
there is a new iteration of /kind/ again! To celebrate it, its planed to stream some show again. This time, everyone here should vote on what will be streamed. The options are:
- Sōsō no Frieren - Laid-back, but also sad slice of life story about an elf-girl realising she will outlive every human around her.
- Scavengers Reign - SciFi animated show that follow survivors of a space ship wreck that now have to survive on an alien planet and adapt to its unique flora and fauna.
- Hilda - Bluehaired girl lives through various adventures vaguely inspired by Scandinavian lore. Very beautiful.
Just post which show should be watched and if possible also prefered timezone, to make planning a little bit easier.
The first streams should start this weekend so (2024-05-11/12). The exact time will be set on friday, for now its planed to stream each day for one hour.

In my streaming experience, it depends. If you want to do regular streams, shows with a story is a good way to keep peeps engaged with the stream. That depends on a reliable time and place of course.

Frieren was pretty popular, I don't think we'll have to wait too long for a second season. Until then, what should we watch next?
As an intermission we could watch the movie Robot Dreams - Dog lives in Manhattan and he's tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot, a companion.
For the next show, here are some suggestions:
Kino's Journey - The protagonist, Kino, accompanied by a talking motorcycle named Hermes, travels through a mystical world of many different countries and forests, each unique in its customs and people.
Barakamon - A proud young calligrapher is punished for punching a critic by being sent to a faraway island in the east coast of Japan.
Asobi Asobase - Three wildly different 8th graders create a "pastimes" club to get through the absurdity of middle school.
No elves in these stories I believe, but feel free to make your own suggestions! Whatever gets the most votes shall be streamed, in the end we should watch something all of us can enjoy. Also post your preferred time and day of the week, I'm thinking about streaming on Saturdays at around 20:00 UTC.

Also, since you asked earlier: I think, I'd generally prefer some movies or OVAs, over a longer running series. Between the seasonal stuff, and the shows I already watch on other streams, I'm hesitant to "commit" myself to even more shows, and I can't be sure, that I always have time on Saturday evening.

by the way, if anyone's going to japan the next two weeks, jap movie theaters are showing 'summer wars' again for its 15th anniversary! the movie's 15th anniversary will be on august 1st, but it'll be shown in movie theaters and cafes from today to august 9!
