that thing is air blockable and i was blocking in the air anyways so it probably wouldn't have been a good exchange either way

But doesn't HJ leave you vulnerable for a long time? I mean my timing was wrong but when I try to do something at that distance I always get hit so I assumed I was going to get you there that's why I went for that.

Ah damn :(
I should've used the quick one

>>4076
>But doesn't HJ leave you vulnerable for a long time?
it does, 623 is too slow to catch it reliably though. initially i thought you wanted to guard point my landing j5A which wouldn't have worked because i was blocking, but if you wanted to catch the high jump startup instead then that would have worked if you had picked a faster move

GGs, thanks for the games. I managed to properly hit 5AAAA dl.3A(1) 236B a whole single time this set, and I had to really focus on it.

The delay falls into just the right window when it feels uncomfortable waiting that long, and 236B after has to be done fast enough when it needs a weird input, at least on keyboard. I have to either do 3A 5D 236B or make a half-circle like motion by releasing 6 right after I input 3A. At least it gives enough time for 4C 236B oki and actual pressure with j8A ender.

GGs Alice player! Despite losing 9-21, this was some really good soku. I got to practice Marisa's offensive a bit more.

The rounds where I won seemed to be so only because you seemed exhausted. Or I wonder if I'm wrong?

Also, make sure to check out the AI war thread in /vnt/ >>>/vnt/1925 . It's a good game, even if it's long. The AI on 9+ difficulty is so harsh I've yet to beat it after around 200 hours in it. Lower difficulties are manageable, though.

>>4227
GGs, thanks for hosting! You're an SSR+ pull in the soku player gacha. I'm looking forward to playing with you again.
>The rounds where I won seemed to be so only because you seemed exhausted. Or I wonder if I'm wrong?
I don't think it's good to think this way. Even if there are external circumstances, a win is a win and a loss is a loss. In this case, there were no such circumstances. I just don't know how to handle enemy DPs and made other sloppy mistakes.
>Also, make sure to check out the AI war thread
I saw it, might buy it, probably won't join on Friday. Time has been precious recently and I'm already ghosting some other commitments.

Very well, I'll believe you. No more talking like that. It was difficult to get those wins as is, if I was a worse player I'd basically get less. Some of those games came down to a wire. Sometimes even literally.
>I saw it, might buy it, probably won't join on Friday. Time has been precious recently and I'm already ghosting some other commitments.
Happy New Year and merry (oldtimer) Christmas!

see you around!

>>4233
GGs, thanks for the games. It's been awhile since I played against Marisa, this is such a fun matchup.

>>4234
Marisa is a really fun character all around. You get so many situational tools to pull out of a hat, but if you use them at the wrong time, it gets bad for her. So it's like playing a character with 9 attack buttons, in a way.

>>4235
I think most characters have a lot of situational moves, but they get overshadowed by some low-risk multipurpose move. I get what you're saying, though, I think it's much more entertaining for both players when once character has a lot of risky but rewarding moves.

>>4228

>>4249
Ggs again! Can't seat confidently on any success as with new day comes new Alice difficulty level.
> Much harder to disrespect a character with such a damage output.
That's the reason why I picked her today, couldn't bear your impudent mashes any longer. Yuyu's mash punish is at the very least a good 1.8k+ autocombo anywhere on the screen, and in best case with 4k timebomb attached as well.

Question to experts - how do I make my opponent stop mashing as much and get some respect as Aya? I'm really trying to use anti-mash measures and they do hit rather often, but at most it's meagre 600 damage for each such "punish" and I can't even blame opponent for disregarding that. Meanwhile anti-mash options are often blockstring-enders as well, so if I always go with them I won't be able to get persistent pressure.

GGs Macaron man
Please don't try to play Alice without Seeker Wire alts, it just doesn't work out. Your Meiling's not bad!

>>4265
GGs, thanks for the games. For once, Meiling's 623B works like a solid anti-air. I love this move, but it's practically useless against most characters.

>>4266
Seeker Wire takes away a lot of fun things Alice has with default spinners. Doll placement doesn't matter that much anymore, and metered AUB setups and crushes become pretty hard to pull off. She's a completely different character without them. A slightly better one for sure, but it just doesn't click with me as much as default 22X.

>>4268
That may be true, but Alice's whole deal is that if she doesn't get to breathe, she doesn't get to fight. Aggressive characters exploit that. Seeker Wire lets you, well, breathe.

>>4269
I think the important thing about Alice that runs d22X is the fact that she's much closer to a rushdown character than a zoner. If the neutral ever gets reset to a fullscreen situation, she's instantly at a disadvantage, but if she can ride the momentum and stay in f5a range, now her opponent doesn't get to play at all. I can't play like, but someone who knows how to pressure people would make her work just as well as an Alice that runs Seeker Wire, on top of having much more freedom with crushes and setups that lead to a checkmate.

Throwing j.2As is funny but overall feeling is mixed, can't fly all around the screen or sit on one place and go pew pew at all. Also veil may be strong card but even it can't save a retard from dying… I think I inflicted much more damage on self by using these today lol.

>>4275
GGs! Iku-san! Getting wins with her despite your inexperience should tell you just how scary she is for Alice. But (thankfully) she is not easy to pick up and play.

Hop on 5.16.28.43:10800 with giuroll!

This happened TWICE during today's set, and was supposed to be anti-mash option…
>>4327
Ggs! Is it only me or do you also feel each of our games somehow became longer? Well except the last one lol.

>>4328
GGs, thanks for hosting. Sudden death soku where both players are afraid to commit is good.
>>4329
>webm
Alice 66A truly has no equal. I think it's normal that games get longer as they become less one-sided.

>>4330
> Sudden death soku where both players are afraid to commit is good.
Honestly these situations are really difficult for me, my patience and composure meters deplete rather quickly and it ends up in stupid finger slips like on webm.

Meanwhile, tourney anytime soon?

>>4332
I can do one on the 17th at the usual time if that works for people

Any host?

>>4333
Fine by me.

>>4347
You okay over there?

>>4348
I had family asking for help moving boxes.

>>4349
Oh, alright, that's fair, you did well to help them. GGs, I'm sorry for short games. I don't think we can play this very well - this delay feels randomly generated.

If you have trouble learning Komachi, I recommend scouring the wiki and discord for guides. I like reinventing the wheel and doing stupid things, so I don't generally do this, but it feels like may help in your case.

>>4350
GGs.
>this delay feels randomly generated.
Yeah, after I got back it seemed to get really bad.
>If you have trouble learning Komachi
I haven't played in around 2 months, and all of my practice has just been throwing myself into games. I really should put in some effort to learn a few things.

>>4351
That's the spirit! I'll be rooting for you on your path of hyper conquest!!!

Ggs! 20% winrate against your Sakuya and even victory in first BO3 is quite pleasant surprise of today. Still no single successful coin BE, but I'm really trying.

REMINDER that 2vs2 soku will happen TODAY, 15:00 GMT!

>>4408
GGs well played by all. Who could've thought that the way to fix Aya was to bring another Aya.
Yuyuko and Yuyuko however is a match made in Hell.
Let's pray for a 4th player next time.

>>4408
The power of friendship has prevailed!
I feel bad for all who don't have alicefriends to beat up their enemies

>>4408
2vs2 1vs2 soku time is over, thanks for coming to all comers and ggs! 1vs2 feels much more like a game rather than mashfest compared to 1.5vs1.5 soku, sort of tagsoku but your tag is always active. We're still cursed being stuck with 3 players, but we shall believe and we'll definitely get granted with fourth one some day.

Game:

GGs. I managed to take a round, so that's progress.

Please join whenever you're ready.

>>4440
GGs, well played! That was one hell of a final match. Given recent circumstances I was expecting to do much worse but I guess I still got it. Unless I miscounted, that is. You definitely tightened up your game since the last long set we played! Please keep getting stronger and stronger forever.

Also I'm still looking for more soku.

Apparently I've lost all recordings of my epic 5c typhoon countersuction tech, glad to get a fresh one.
>>4442
Ggs! I feel like last bit of power I need to get for total domination in this matchup is steel discipline that would prevent me from trying something funny every each interaction. That goes for any matchup really, but for this one in particular.
> Please keep getting stronger and stronger forever.
Will do for sure, hope you'll be able to keep up as well!

>>4443
still up? i can play for a bit

>>4445
Still up! Please join at >>4441

>>4445
GGs and thank you for the games. Each set against your oki Sakuya is a fresh reminder that there's a proper way to play this game and what I'm doing isn't it. It's an exercise in turning off the mash and turning on the brain. I like it very much.

>>4447
ggs. i think i've said it before but i have to say it again, this matchup honestly looks like it really fucking sucks for Alice. it's gotta take some real mental fortitude to keep pushing it despite of that
thanks for hosting

*Unsure how appropriate is it but anyway, following to my victory on a tourney elsewhere I was asked to add something to its banner as sort of victory mark, but my initial suggestion has been vetoed because they hate cute and funny Cirno jokes there, so I have to think of something else. I owe most of my playtime and skill developed from it to people from here, so I thought I let you come up with something you'd also like to see there. If you don't want to, I'm defaulting to semi-transparent KOISNEED captions all over the banner.**

>>4449
I don't get it
You want a banner?

>>4450
There's already existing banner in form of touhou randompic collage, I'm asking whether anyone here would like to add something from themselves there as representation of sorts, and I'll send it as my submission. Rules are no porn and loli sexo implications, otherwise anything goes.

>>4451
>no porn and loli sexo implications
Literally 1984.

please do not post in this kind of manner!
