Shinobu
>pvre christian girl
Lum
>literal space demon

>>161
She lifts for Jesus and has natty gains, while Lum can't even lift without juicing on roids.

>>160
This you?

>>163
Nah man, I'm just a regular human bean.

I am a gigantic Lumfag, but Shinobu is good, very good. She is a genuinely kind person that is always willing to help people when they need it, like Kitsune, Ryuunosuke and Inaba for example. She's also loyal, I don't think anyone else would have tried to make it work with Ataru after Lum showed up. But at the same time she knows when to give up on Ataru and move on instead of trying to win him back or anything, she has good judgement. And like other anons have mentioned it also helps that she's freakishly strong and of course cute as well. My palate just isn't refined enough to consider her best girl, sorry Shinobu bros

for me, its heian shinobu

>>166
She looks pretty with longer hair.

>>160
Lum stayed faithful to Ataru through the entire series. Meanwhile Shinobu jumped from Ataru's dick to Mendou's to literally anyone, even a fox.

>>166
Criminally underused design right here

>>161
>pvre christian girl

>>160
Benten is better then both. Is fact.

Even the animators would agree with me.

Shinobu low key racist

>>173
I don't even think they can even breed tbh

>>174
We should find out, for science.

Shinobu bros...

Shinobu is not a lesbian, please go fuck yourselves PRONTO

Lum's Feed and Seed

formally Shinobu's

>She is a genuinely kind person

I don't think the series ever shyed away from showing how superficial she is and how she seems to lack committment much like Ataru. Frankly she's kind of a bad person.

>>178
>>179
The anime especially teased those two as a couple hardcore. Frankly it makes WAY more sense than the literal bunny boy who falls from the heavens to be her boyfriend.

Shinobu should have ended up with Mendo or Ryu-chan. Probably outright dikery might be too spicy for the show in 1983, so just go with mendo. Deus Ex Machina boyfriend is literally awful writing.

That episode is really creepy and FEELS like the kind of shit people write creepypastas about. The kids are literally getting HIGH AS FUCK on shrooms and it's making them become more unhinged and more violent as the episode goes on. Tonally it doesn't fit UY.

>>180
She comes from a very chaste and conservative family, but really, Ryu x Shinobu has a lot of chemistry together.

And likewise, Ryoko is just hilarious but she's about as far away from the original premise as you can get. And despite Ran and Ryoko being similar they hardly ever interact.

Just imagine the chaos if they came to blows?

In beach episodes or her personal eps, Shinobu suddenly gains latina body shape and thighs. She's quite skinny for the early series.

Of course Ran has lacey panties. Of course.

was this really needed Shinobu?

The girls' shapes and proportions vary chapter to chapter at times, especially if its to show off their curves like a beach episode. I think this supposed to be Shinobu's "canon" size. She's a skinny 17 year old.

>>1342
I personally found that episode hilarious, if there ever was an episode that actually felt closest to what people write creepypastas about it’s probably “And then there was nobody”..well for ones first viewing at least.
>>1355
They interacted in the September tea party special where she was in on the mass production of voodoo dolls after the retelling of the story on my above post

>>1638
I mean, she doesn't think of herself as skinny admittedly.

>>1705
>>1638
Admittedly, her "unique" figure looks pretty skinny overall. But she definitely isn't "voluptuous". We know that much by the comparison here.

Shinobu smacks Ataru in the head for this comment.

That's Rumiko's early art style which is very much rooted in 70's manga. The girls get a bit shaplier later on. The boys change the most - Ataru is almost unrecognizable there.

Shinobu actually looks a few years older in the later chapters - more like an actual 17 year old, while she is 14-ish in early chapters.

>>1736
Fair enough. It is the earliest beach chapters that I was quoting, but those are some of the few that actually discuss figures. You can assume Ataru was already a bit bloated from vacation to explain the discrepancy (though not in the face, that is just one of those things).

Shinobu basically is "normal" compared to the other more buxom bombshells. Obviously still a bit prettier than most people in real life.

Note how Shinobu conceptually can't understand not dating pretty boys.

Fact: Lum is Pure. Shinubo is also pure.

Smugnobu is the best, but we rarely see it.

Sexnobu.

Shinobu dated Ataru. And honestly, her dialog here very clearly is more that these guys compensate for their other flaws by being handsome.

I'm glad this script has her call Ataru "good-natured" though.

>Among the beautiful women who are known in "Urusei Yatsura", Shinobu Miyake must be mentioned first because of her presence.

>She debuts in the first frame of Volume 1, Part 1, "Kakemeguru Seishun," implying a delicate relationship with Moroboshi Ataru.
>When playing Onigokko with the earth, she bet Ataru, saying, "If I win, we’ll get married," but this later led to a love triangle with Lum.
>In the classroom, Ataru and Lum were flirting with each other, so she was jealous of them and threw a desk and lifted a heavy teaching platform, and eventually acquired superhuman strength. This power is very helpful in protecting her. It can be said that it is because of this superhuman strength that the the giant clam was able to be wrangled, and that the monster of Butsumetsu High School was blown away.
>In the normal future (?), She was supposed to marry Ataru and give birth to a child named Kokeru. But what fate lies in the new door of the future? The key seems to be held by Inaba-kun of the Destiny Manufacturing Control Bureau. The origin of her name, Shinobu Miyake, is a former Shonen Sunday editorial staff who was the first person in charge of "Urusei Yatsura".

Shinobu's strength as a gag starts with her lifting desks to show her extreme anger. And actually anger was one of her early traits. Then she just kept doing it even when not angry.

I always loved Rumiko taking gags and making them bigger and bigger and sometimes changing them along the way.

Beautiful, sexy and pure.
A harlot like Lum could never compete.

>starring longingly into each other's eyes

>>2143
The joke is that Shinobu can be flirtatious and let her guard down around Ryuunosuke because she is a girl.

>>2143
>lesbian in denial
are we SURE Shinobu isn't Rumiko's self-insert?

>>2193
>lesbian
dude all of her female characters hate eachother, always talk about men, and there is not even one female friendship of note in all of her works.
And Shinobu is still her self insert.

>>2193
Rumiko's self-inserts for UY are initially Shinobu, then Ryunosuke and Lum. Yes, Lum.

Ryu is Rumioko outlet for her pent up lesbianism, confusion over her gender and sexuality. It's an outlet to do lesbian baiting fantasies with plausible deniability. Pairing Ryu and Shinobu just seems perfect.

>>2196
>lum
nah she said Lum is completely different from her, it's the most unrelatable character there is for her.
I also think you are coping about her being a lesbian, plenty of yumejoshis draw sexy beautiful girls without being necessary attracted to them. It's just a fantasy.

Shinobu is not as fun as Lum, but at least she avoids the trope of “fighter who’s supposedly strong but never improves and always ends up in trouble” thing that Akane and Kagome have.
Shinobu’s strength is mostly played as a gag in UY, since it’s a comedy, but Akane is introduced as a capable martial artist, and Ranma is a comedy too for the most part, yet 90% of Ranma's plot devices revolves around saving her ass, and furthermore in the last chapter she gets turned in a doll. A complete loss of agency, when she can feel everything happening around her while being stuck in the body of a lifess doll, it was so bad it almost felt like a parody, instead of having her team up finally with Ranma and do some fighting together, like Rumiko Takahashi implied she wanted the two of them to be equals.
While for Kagome it was just so repetitive and boring, she has this badass bow but ends up being kidnapped far more than any other heroine.

>>2321

Wait, can we talk about how Akane was absolutely wasted as a character? Skilled martial artist, gets her ass kicked in basically every engagement. Same with Soun and Genma, they're basically useless, the two actually competent fighters are Ranma and fucking Happosai.

>>2321
>in the last chapter she gets turned in a doll. A complete loss of agency, when she can feel everything happening around her while being stuck in the body of a lifess doll
I'm not sure why you see this as a bad thing.
