Odd request (and I don't know if it'd be possible) but I always find that wapchat is empty, I've idled around there for a few days and only ever saw two people join (both of which left right after). Would there be a way to add how many people are currently in wapchat to the board somehow?

I imagine people may want to join if there's someone there to talk to, or even idle about in for discussion others might bring. Not sure how many users would want to stick around that place and prefer the slow nature of the boards, but I think if people are bored and want to talk to some other fellow users it might be a good idea to show how many are in chat.

Been busy recently so I haven't been on as much, the boards definitely been a bit slower recently. I'll work on your suggestion soon, it shouldn't be that hard to implement. This week I'll do the fireside chat (probably on tuesday) so we can hash out more ideas for the site as a whole.

Good to hear, never really used IRC before so I had no idea if it was possible, I just remember a forum I used to frequent years ago did that and you could even see the usernames of the people in the chat at the time.

I've felt that as well, I imagine the few users sticking around are probably waiting for more discussion than starting threads themselves, but just a guess. Will need to advertise more in certain places to certain people so they might want to jump here instead.

This feature exists since the vast majority of spam sites use some sort of link shortener to try and hide their domains. Didn't know it had an issue with large files though, so I added that option

How about a /vt/ board for creating threads/discussing Chuubas?

I don't think vtuber discussion fits well with the theme of Wapchan given that they're a recent phenomena that essentially revolve around streamer internet celebrities. Plus, not a single vtuber fan ended up at Wapchan anyway, the one thread at /gens/ has been up for 9 days and only gotten 3 posts (which are likely all OP too).

There are over 8500 vtubers that are known (aka have at least 10 viewers regularly) and discussion around them is always normal.

Somewhat unrelated but I feel the DBZ early soundtrack has kinda drowned out all other tracks unintentionally, plus it’s kinda gotten repetitive. As a second request is it possible to use the Ranma 1/2 soundtrack as well?

Every time I open this site the top posts are in F1. I guess its fine to be into cars but does this really fit the theme of the site? These 4chan refugees have not learned the ways of wap. They post jaks, they post endlessly. Its now the most active thread on wapchan with a new post every few seconds and it feels like they are dragging the rest of the site down. I came here to discuss old anime not see cars and 4cancer everywhere.

Not really but they have settled down for the most part since most of the frog/jak spammers went to 4chan, and sports is a topic I don't mind having on here provided the rules are followed.
You shouldn't have to see them now unless you go out of your way to look for them. I'd like to integrate them better with the rest of the site but that may be an ongoing project (/kind/ was also an enclave for a while)
Other opinions on this are welcome of course.

You cant tell me that you never atleast get a little curious what else goes on rest of the imageboard you post on daily? God forbid the kinda guy that likes sports or kind stuff show some interest in sum retro anime also.

that's just sports. until summer break comes it's going to be very active because there's always something new to talk about.

trust me, the guys here are way less annoying than the ones on 4chan. they don't do any harm. we might not fit in completely but we mean well

I try to post a .mp4 or vp9 webm under the file limit and i get a message saying the webm isnt right. Is this a bug or am I being a tard?

This is a vichan bug related to the audio stream being first that I will try and fix soon enough. For now you can do something like
ffmpeg -i file.webm -map 0:1 -map 0:0 -c copy fixed_file.webm
and that should work, assuming stream 0 was audio and stream 1 was video.
