I stopped reading 1-2 years ago but Nue and Kagurabachi are worth checking out. Nue is a fun LN harem-like with a cool way of "worldbuilding", the author probably has an autistic list of notes (but it isn't explained very well). Kagurabachi's style is unmatched and is very visually inventive, and the first 2 long arcs (chapters 10-40?) are literarily impressive.

I only still read One Piece and HXH when it returns. I was thinking of reading the rakugo series but never did start it. I do occasionally read some of the older series though. I'm reading Hell Teacher Nube right now.

I think weekly manga are kind of annoying to read. Maybe it's just reading OP for so long and its pacing being shit though.

I think Akanebanashi is really quite mediocre. It's one of those manga that doesn't deserve an anime imo (like Witch Watch, Roboco, and so on). Jump is letting all these low-effort series get anime because they just have nothing else.
You should read World Trigger and Gintama.

Anime is not a prize to be won by what you deem worthy, you arrogant twit.

Gee okay, my bad for having an opinion I suppose.

mugi chan will cure your sadness, ok!

Uh, oh. Are you really prepared Mugi? Don't get me wrong, I really wish you succeed, I just don't want you to screw yourself over with diving into that whole mess.

Komugi is risen!
(I like Koyori better though)

OK anons, you have at least some of the attention of the 4chan refugees. Tell us why this could be a better place to stay than our original /a/

Not to mention, they're occupying generals on both 8/a/ and Sharty/a/.
It's probably mostly just the same 30 or so people considering the state of the general prior to 4chan's closure (genuinely, if jannies felt like it a solid week of deleting would've killed /dbs/ for good, that's how dead it was).

Now that 4chanX works I plan on chilling here even more!

That's because when 4chan is down the tradition is for everyone to post in the most recently posted-in thread in desuarchive

what

I never did finish Paranoia Agent, last thing I remember is nip cartman getting walloped

In the 5 days 4head has been down, I have finally caught up on tenchi muyo. Tenchi sexo'd every woman, and even the spaceship. If only we all could learn to be like chadchi, then we could reverse the birthrates and save our beloved image boards from bad janitors and shillposters.

Are you watching this season's most retro anime?

What's the consensus on the steins;gate anime? I played the visual novel on ps vita many years ago and really enjoyed it but I'm not sure I have it in me to do the whole VN again. Is the anime a worthy adaptation?
Also are there any shows that capture the same vibe as the novel that you'd recommend? Are the other games in this series good?

I can't tell you what the consensus was since for the life of me I've never actually talked about Steins;Gate before, but the anime is worth watching if you played the VN before. It is a VN adaptation so it won't match up to the VN 100% like every other adaptation, but it is still watchable on its own. Biggest problems I had with it were with the pacing of the anime over the VN, but if you want to watch the anime give it a shot.

If it has been a while since you read it the anime should be a good way to see it again. I'd count it as a great adaptation.
As for the rest you should play the 0 VN and then pretend it never got an anime. I'd count the VN as nearly as good as the original and the anime as among the worst adaptations I've seen and I'm generally not that harsh on them. I didn't even think the Urasekai adaptation was that bad.

I never played the VN but as someone who doesn't often rewatch anime, I always make sure to watch it again at least once a year. One of my favorites for sure

It's good, especially if you have a familiarity with the story already, but it does its own thing obviously so don't go into it expecting a 1:1 adaption. The creators of the anime took creative liberties to adapt it their way and I think it's a good watch.

anime isnt nearly as good in my opinion
the VN just hits harder

Potatoes…

Okitsura: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Knew What She's Saying
The first episode had great animation, was a lot of fun, and had some nice Okinawan cultural tidbits! Check it out and post cute Okinawans!
(Would a thread for the currently airing season be a good idea?)

never watch anything currently airing
it's a recipe for getting burned

Careful of spoilers within.

Hunter x Hunter is the poster child for what is wrong with the publisher sphere, I understand that there are problems but at this point wouldn't it better if He left the work to his assistant and limit Himself to a management role rather than a drawing one? It would be the best solution for everyone.

>>397
Not for Togashi though. He enjoys what he does the way he does it.

>>397
>everyone
You mean the lowest common denominator?
The masses?
You have no respect for art

>>448
Ok then, don't cry when he will eventually die before finishing the manga tho.

Sex with Sakura.

I started watching this the other day. I was curious if it was just nostalgia for a lame girls' show, or if it was any good.
I'm enjoying it. I'm the simple sort of person that just wants to know what's next, so the monster of the week format is fine with me.
Sakura is cute. The cards are cool. Tomoyo isn't that interesting to me, but she's extremely similar to Kozue from the 2003 VN "Snow Sakura". It isn't surprising, but it was just kind of neat to see what might be the source of inspiration for the character.

This may not fit on the board, but is the 2018 sequel any good? I've just finished the entire series + the movies and liked it, although I'm skeptical a modern sequel to an /ar/ anime would be any good

IS A PIECE OF SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT

Cool thread
