Yeah, idk what /r/uruseiyatsura did with that, my personal watch guide is "watch the original series in order, if you like it, keep watching it". Or watch the reboot, honestly, it's valid too.

UY absolutely has an order, it's just very loose with it; the only thing that matters is when major characters get introduced

The order mostly consists of introducing characters, changing art styles, writing methods, and/or linking old episode happenings every once in a while. UY resets itself every time an episodes ends, so order really does not matter and it's almost non-existent. Characters barely change unless someone on the writing team decides it's needed for a specifically planned emotional episode, that's when characters sometimes get their personally completely changed (for example just look at how Ataru acts in Episode 25: Fly, Imo-Chan!, completely different from how he usually acts in other episodes, it's almost out of character).

The only order you'll honestly see is quality, which Urusei Yatsura notoriously zig zags from absolute shitty unwatchable garbage to amazing masterpieces.

Let's face it. /lum/ is comfy, but slow. We need to spread the word about /lum/ so this board can truly be a worthy successor to old /a/ UY threads. I think we should get some real nice OC and spread the word both on the nu lum threads on /a/ as well as r/uruseiyataura, and maybe even other places. Any of you have ideas?

I'm gonna be honest. I think we should really think on how we should spread this board. Spreading it /a/ gets you banned for 3 days plus /lum/ is full of schizos, so it should be ruled out in my opinion.

As for reddit, honestly it's not worth it either. R/uruseiyatsura usually produces low quality content (plus they just repost the same shit over and over again) and having redditors here would ruin the comfiness of this place (just like with /a/).

I advice you to spread it to old anime forums and such. They would probably attract more interesting people to discuss the anime.

Agreed. Will gain a few interesting people without increasing traffic to spam levels as well. People tend to forget half of the reason why smaller IBs are "comfy" is due to the fact they aren't extremely fast. As long as there's a steady flow of posters without the website being "dead", that's fine on my end.

Like I was saying on discord, the reboot probably should have ended at the first season. I overall enjoyed the first season and felt had a decent variety of stories.
The second season has felt more repetitive with episodes filled with the same gag repeated ad infinitum. Of course, it probably doesn't help that I never really like Ryunnosuke and her father or Ton and Asuka. That may vary to other people but I think most people will agree the story of Ataru, Lum, Shinobu, and Mendo looking at all the alternate futures didn't need to be 3 episodes long.
Second season has just felt like a repetitive drag and reminds me why I always enjoyed Ranma over UY.

Completely understandable. Most people watch it for the main 4 characters, that being Ataru, Lum, Shinobu and Mendo. Most of the other characters were created out of thin air, since Rumiko liked introducing as many characters as she could to keep the story fresh.

This can also be seen in the manga. Some chapters were just a bunch of gags loosely stringed together into a story. Quality varies.
