Or just retarded? Let's say a male falls in love with a female who he doesn't know is actually a male crossdresser despite this fact being repeatedly explained to him. How do we classify Kuno sexually? Well okay, Ranma isn't a crossdresser since he physically changes into a she and isn't pretending which complicates things a lot. I mean, theoretically it would be fine to be attracted to her when he's a her. I guess it would only be gay if the attraction also includes boy Ranma. Clearly, Akane is lesbian or some adjacent type of perversion but we knew this already. Seriously, what else explains that haircut? Soun betrothing his daughter to a gender bender was a stroke of genius. But when it comes to Kuno I see the following possibilities:

A. He is gay but doesn't realize it. Probably faps to 女装 JAV tapes and justifies it with "they are boys not men actually and this is traditional samurai nanshoku and therefore not gay." Rivalry with male Ranma is just his psychically repressed gayness. Why else is Kuno always around him?

B. Not gay. He's only turned on by the red haired pig tailed girl and is just a simple village pervert.

C. He's just retarded and fools can't consent so what does it matter anyway? But if he managed to sleep with girl Ranma (PLEASE GOD NOOOO!) would Kuno have successfully r *ped himself?

I like to think sexual identities are made up insanity Western label-mania and Kuno is like a platypus that fucks with the taxonomy. Maybe we need to mint a new orientation of brain damaged kendoka who are specifically pervy for guys that turn into girls but only when they are girls?

Time to push little figamin into pool of drowning imageboard admin 非常悲惨的故事

Kuno's straight but not quite there in the head

> what else explains that haircut?

Did we forget that she only has that haircut because of Ranma

>>760
Yeah, but why doesn't she grow it out? As far as I remember, Shampoo and Ukyo had longer hair towards the end of the series.

>>762
Rumi simply decided she wanted her to be a hairlet

>>762
Just more proof Akane is a lesbian.

I wish I could say it's comforting

Thank you for the stream! I hope this board becomes more active.

Jannies on a payroll, oh wait…

Yet another thread derailed by 4chan bad discussion

*slap* bad janny! bad!

>>770
I hope so as well!
>>772
My bad. It's just annoying when community events get squashed.

This is a thread for the best songs featured in adaptations of Rumiko's works. Could be OPs, EDs, insert songs, BGM, or remixes of any of these.
I'll start with "Born to be Free" by Steffanie, featured in the intro to UY3.

Inuyasha is the only Rumiko work that has song adaptations in Brazil, and Darest is my favorite of the adaptations to Portuguese.

God I hate this corporate world. You mind putting up an MP3?

Here go

So they announced a new Ranma anime being done by MAPPA and I didn't see anyone talking about it so I thought I'd make a thread.

I've only watched the first episode so far and it was okay. It looks like it's going to be a pretty straightforward adaptation. For a second there, I thought it was going to be the same OP as well.

Yeah I agree, I just watched the first ep yesterday and I'm enjoying it. Love the original VAs coming back, they don't sound like they aged a day, the fight scenes are also massively improved over the original, I like how creative they go with camera angles, and I'm still not a fan of the perfectly round nippleless breasts but that's not why we watch Ranma anyway.

I'd say it's probably a better remake than UY was in most aspects, but people really cared when making both.

Good

The remake has exceeded expectations so far tbh.

Cool beans.

Each thing personally affects reality.Example-eating salt and then being assalted.Find which thing and pick the categories, words, letters and symbols and get the answer to any question or not pick the words and the words that are remaining or farthest away are the answer.Find which thing and do magic.Thinking thoughts, snapping or pointing your fingers and a book with the information appears or the thing you were thinking of appears. The elements.Vitamins and minerals.Eating or drinking the same food again and again or a combination of things or not eating or drinking enough.Write a paragraph of information about subjects.Get the answer by connecting the words and other things, specifying, adding words to the words, correcting the errors, synonyms.

What was her problem? Will theyr fix her in the remake?

Her problem was that Ranma was a dumb asshole.

Everyone's either dumb or asshole in Ranma 1/2 and in most cases it's both

She's a bit worst in the anime but she's lovely in the manga, she's a cutie

I'm am not looking forward to this remake. New infux of fans. Internet bringing culture wars bullshit into it. I can see it coming. All the people complaining about an arranged marriage between two high schoolers. Twitter will yell rape. Trans Twitter claiming Ranma as one of their own and anyone saying its a martial arts show about bad parenting is a homophobe. Trans haters raging about how its all propaganda by the CCP to get people to visit Jusenkyo and use the water that turns frogs gay to undermine the good Christian American family. And its uncanny valley effect all over again. You see something vaguely simmilar to what you saw when you were a kid but now its all different. Its gonna ruin my childhood.

Also Ukyo was my first. Tried to kiss her through the moniter and got static shock.

Ukyo /ss/

/lum/ will never die - for all of its faults, I appreciate that at least it was given a chance, and while it's probably going to be forgotten about in the next decade, it was nice to see something new in 30 years.

Given how many discs there probably are in that not really that bad $$$ wise.
Atleast thats how i would look at it.

>>647
yeah except I'd have no use for them because I use the BD-rips for Darling's Recap

>>648

> BD-rips

You kids these days and your digital "copies" of stuff.

>>649
I'm not going to make my series on a VCR because I like being able to edit cels in Photoshop also how did i fuck up passwords so bad that it keeps changing smh

>>547
We don't know what the pipeline actually was though. Its common for series directors to heavily edit the storyboards of episodes or change up scripts, request certain staff for certain episodes, etc, without taking extra credit for it.

>>545
Surprising if that's the case (been too long since I watched any) since the episode scripts he wrote for Patlabor TV were great.

Very simple. We post fan art that we like. Please remember to link the original place the art was posted (generally twitter/pixiv), so we can keep up with these artists and support them. Note that this is open to all rumiko works, not just UY.
I really enjoy this piece based on episode 144 of the original anime. Maybe I'm a sucker for dutch angles but it fits the "dreamy" atmosphere.

I'm heavily biased for any fanart with Imo-chan.

Maison Ikkoku is better than Urusei Yatsura.

There, I said it.

To be fair it seemed to be a relationship in name only. They never even kissed for crying out loud!

Juliette belongs to the frogs.

According to my calculations, you're wrong. You must revert your statement within 24 hours or else something rather unfortunate will happen within a 100 mile radius of your IP address.

Note: It won't be pretty

In the rumic world, bubbles = goofy sex.

Kek, gotta admire how much the French love 80s anime.

This is a thread dedicated to the songs used in the original Urusei Yatsura anime.

The full UY OST is vast and can be listened to on the Internet Archive https://archive.org/details/urusei-yatsura-ost or seeded at https://nyaa.si/view/868533 .

The series is known for it's distinct soundtrack, full of a variety of genres reflective of the diverse Japanese popular music that later came to be known as "city pop", though not all of the tracks necessarily belong to that. Many of the most recognizable tracks from early in the series can be attributed to Shinsuke Kazato and Fumitaka Anzai. Anzai in particular is responsible for the synthesizer laden tracks that define the series, while Kazato's work tended to be more orchestral. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo_7emKXlHE .

Urusei Yatsura also used outside soundtracks, notably the Beatles inspired Digital Mystery Tour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gJMlXCGcBw and Masayoshi Takanaka's Finger Dancin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQhSfnx8dfg .
There is also heavy Latin influence in some of the show's most famous themes, like Lum's Love Song and Love Mobius. Later in the series, artists like Steffanie and Cindy brought new influences into the series, such as hard rock.
There's even a series of official UY remixes, including Digital Trip Urusei Yatsura https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mBsiVwUQPaU5LyZfKBwMPfkojCwXbg0Is and Urusei Yatsura Remix (1991) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLha3ysj0EbYFO6uZeDNdUZThqnC-TMcXb
Here are some interesting interviews with people who worked on the sounds of Tomobiki:
Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

Urusei Yatsura for the most part has pretty good music but when the anime goes off the rails, that's when the music goes from being "yeah, it's pretty good" to "wait, //this// is in an episodic romcom??"
